South Africa, United we Stand Against Lockdown
Superlatte stands with the restaurant and hospitality industry this week as we protest the devastating effects of the lockdown and alcohol ban on our businesses.
Here’s what’s happening & how you can help. Weds 22 July #JobsSavesLives Organised by the Restaurant Association of South Africa, the #JobsSavesLives protest is a peaceful protest set to take place on Wednesday, 22 July 2020 from 12 noon to 2pm. Restaurants will stand together to contest the current lockdown regulations by placing more than a million seats on the streets nationwide. The empty seats are symbolic to the cause – vacant seats mean jobs will be lost, thereby putting the lives dependent on those jobs in jeopardy. Superlatte will be supporting Cape Townʼs Bree Street restaurant community. See you there!
Fri 24 July #ServeUsPlease The second peaceful protest is set to take place on Friday, 24 July 2020, from 10am to 12pm. Organised by Brent and Ashleigh Perremore, the #ServeUsPlease protest also calls on those aected to stand together against restrictive lockdown regulations. The Cape Town City Bowl will see the construction of a human chain. Starting at Buitenkant Street, protesters will create two ribbon-linked lines down both sides of Roeland Street towards Parliament, continuing down Plein Street, with Wale Street being the end destination. Details for protests in other participating cities will be conrmed. Cape Town supporters, register your attendance here.
